As we look forward to Christmas time, there are some great moments of decorating, with the Christmas tree taking shape.
But there are also some great sightings and adventures also happening out in the field – there was a lot of rain on the 15th, which made the Msine river flood that day, fortunately there was not an activity out on drive that would need us to cross this little river, but a few days later we were supposed to go to the Lake Tagalala to prepare the boat, although by this time water was slight, it was still tricky to cross the river and some sticky spots made it an adventure.
On the day I was taking guests to the lake for a boating excursion, the crossing had already been good to cross with no problems, the general game is well spread out all over the open areas now, as its not now necessary to mingle and form huge herds and move toward the permanent water courses like rivers and lakes, so a dazzle of Zebra and this nice big journey of Giraffe was a great sighting.
The scenery as always has been so pretty, but now it’s even prettier being the actual beginning of the rainy season and the landscape is becoming green again. The weather has also become so perfect after the big rain we had recently, as it was hot and humid before, but now it’s perfect, the clouds still build up every single morning and late afternoon and are a good sign of more rains to come.
Another incredible recent sighting we had was the one with hyena and vulture scavenging on the giraffe carcass, it was such an active sighting and interesting hearing the hyena chewing a thick giraffe bone.
My final word is to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
