Beho Beho Bushblog – Godlisten – 29th June

godlistenblog

The new season has just started in Selous after the long rains in March, April and early of May.

Bibi’s pride and our friend the leopard are still around the Beho Beho area, waiting for our guests.

My leave was fantastic this time because I got enough time [28 days] with my family, I also visited South Africa, it was my first time out of Tanzania. It was a good experience and I learned a lot of new stuff that will be useful in my career, thanks to the Beho Beho team for making all the arrangements and bookings.

I started in Durban and visited North Beach and the city center and then the Indaba Travel Show. I stayed in Durban for four days with Joel and Stefania from Africa-Reps, it was good company and I didn’t feel lonely at all, thanks to you guys.

I spent another three days north of Pretoria and stayed at Nedile lodge in Welgevonden Game Reserve, it was a fantastic small lodge with only five rooms. My highlight here was seeing a White Rhino, it’s my first time to see this lovely animal and I also got some good time with Cheetah, Elephant, Lion, Giraffe, zebra, Eland, Spotted brown hyena and many other variety of antelope.

This is how I spent my leave days. Now I am back again in Beho Beho carrying on with my responsibilities. My goal now is to become a walking guide, so for this season I will join Walter, Heribert and Phil for more experience.

I start my first walk with the management team and George lead by Heribert and Phil and we saw lovely Elephant, Waterbuck, Impala, Hippo and many different species of birds
