Beho Beho Bushblog – Salum – 3rd April

Salum Mpapa

Camp has closed because it is a rain season. It is unbelievably peaceful. No artificial noise like vehicles or planes, just wildlife noise. It is raining a lot and this time at the moment it is always at night. All our rivers are flowing and the scenery is so beautiful because it is very green. There are so many animals around the camp and if you go to Beho Beho International you will see even more. There are always Elephant, Giraffe, Zebra, Wildebeest, Impala, Water buck and Warthog. This evening I was just enjoying the view from the camp and a breeding herd of Impala came out to graze around, they were so relaxed.  Then a bull Elephant also came out and they were all so busy enjoying the green pastures. Just after sundown I was walking home and I saw this Elephant walking behind room seven and when he reached the walkway rail he stepped over it. I was so surprised to see that because I expected he would walk around it but he decided to take the more direct route. I was shocked how carefully he did it  without even touching the rail.
